San Francisco- Day 1
San Francisco Day 1
After a six hour flight from Fort Lauderdale, FL we were so tired, but regained our energy as soon as we saw all the beautiful sights San Fran had to offer. On our first day we checked into a contemporary style boutique hotel in the union square area and right in the center of it all. The rooms were small, but it worked out well for us two. Plus, you can't beat the views. Close to all the great shopping, public transport, friendly staff, the front desk goes the extra mile to make your stay pleasant (speaking from experience) and complimentary pillow menu offering 12 different pillows to choose from for your added comfort!! Does it get any better? We stayed for two nights while in San Fran and we will most definitely be back at the Chancellor Hotel if we return to San Francisco.

Soon right after check in we met up with our relatives. My husband had not seen his cousin in over 15 years so we were thrilled for this meet up. They took us to the one of the busiest and well-known tourist attractions in the western United States, Fisherman's Wharf is best known for being the location of Pier 39, the Cannery Shopping Center and Ghirardelli Square. Seafood restaurants are plenty in the area so our first meal had to be clam chowder served in a sourdough bread bowl. One of the most popular attractions at The Wharf includes a sea lion colony next to Pier 39. The sea lions lie on wooden docks that were originally meant for docking boats.

Later that evening, we returned to our hotel to freshen up and found ourselves back at Fisherman's Wharf Pier 3. I was excited to be meeting up with Catherine who runs a blog called MyPowerPose.com. Catherine and I met through Instagram. It was such a delight to meet her. She made reservations at The Slanted Door in the Ferry Building #3. We were so glad reservations were made cause this place is a huge hotspot for locals and tourist. The wait is over 45 minutes just to sit at the bar!! Who can't blame them!? This Vietnamese restaurant family owned and operated offer diverse choices of dining styles and cuisine. As well as a unique culinary experiences that epitomize the family's philosophies on food, wine and spirits and the enjoyment of life and you can't beat the water front views too! So big kuddos to my new friend Catherine for hosting such a lovely evening on our first night in the City by the Bay.

Cheers to our first meet up!
